How to handle uni like a pro

Two weeks down, I thought it's time I share my uni tips. Some really helpful things that got me through last year.

Get organised
This is SOOO important, I thought I was already organised, but I soon found out it wasn't enough. So I quickly learned I needed a few more bits to stay on point.

What you'll need

Whiteboard - ooookay you don't NEED one but it sure helps! This little beauty helps me to remember small tasks under the todo, I can add notes and can put on the days what assessments/deadlines are due.

A diary - sadly it's a little hard to carry your whiteboard around. So you'll need a diary to keep organised on the go. (And if like me you'll forget information by the time you get home). I know what your thinking. "noo, I'll just use my phone" you wont. Some lecturers tell you off for having your phones out and in seminars it's a no no. So a diary is SO much better to keep everything in check.

Get tech savvy

I always take my Hudl2 to lectures and it's proven handy. I've had lectures cancelled last minute or a gap between classes, what do you do for an hour? Pop onto Netflix the time flys by.

You'll need a laptop - this is my newest addition. And not costly, I bought this second hand at a bargain price then added a lovely sticker to the top so now it looks new (it had scratches on the top). Some seminars ask you to bring one also if you have a gap between classes or a lecture is going slow you can catch up on some work, do some research or start that assignment you were putting off. Yes they have PC's but often it's full or busy so I find it better to find a quiet spot and crack on.

Books

Library - Use it as much as you can! If you don't HAVE to buy it, don't. There will be plenty of costly ones you have to buy so save your penny's for them.

A4 notepads - No. No. No. I see this all the time. Ladies, think of your handbags.. do you really want to have to hold your notepad all day? Will it fit in your handbag? No. And half the time you don't fill a page in a class anyway. So it's much easier to use a smaller book. I choose the one above (£1 from home bargains) I use each tab as a different module. Much more efficient to find and add notes to the others.

And finally

Get ready the night before
If like me you hate mornings. The more you can get ready the better! (more time in bed) :-D

Are you going to uni? How do you stay organised?
