As far as UK cities go, Birmingham is my favourite place. When I saw the Christmas markets go up I just had to take a visit. For me it is an hour and a half/ two hours away but it's worth it.
The stalls were so lovely! Really well located all along the street outside the main shops so perfect to have a little shop and browse while seeing the market.
The part I was most looking forward to... a yummy Nutella crepe... yes I know french but who can say no to a fresh crepe.
Although it looks plain the inside is full of Nutella mmm...
Once you're all shopped out, it's worth taking a little detour to see the canals, they're tucked away but so very pretty.
Take a walk through the central square with water features and more little Christmas stalls leading up to the canals.
Have you ever been? Let me know your favourite UK city for me to visit.

I went shopping to Birmingham a few years back, shops are great. The market looks fantastic
ReplyDeleteIt's really good there! It's nice to get out of the city and see a new one x
DeleteI spent the first 30 years of my life in Birmingham. The regeneration to Gas Street and the canals has done wonders for the centre. I have not visited the new bullring shopping centre. We rarely venture back now that we live in rural West Wales and when we do it is just to visit family, rather than shop.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing a lovely post and memories.
